A dental assistant externship is a temporary position in a practicing dentist’s office where you put your newly learned skills to work.

An externship is intended to provide exposure to an actual working environment, further qualifying your training and setting you up for success. Externships also provide you exposure to various dental specialties and practices so that you can get a better feel for your career options and how you’d like to grow.

Externship programs begin after you have completed your sixth week of classwork. If more convenient, externship hours can be completed once you have finished the entire classroom course.

**VIP Dental Assistant Academy does not require for Externship to be completed**.  Externships are recommended but not required. Externship hours are a personal commitment of your time; because we value your time, we have designed our program without this requirement.
